Snowflakes

Hello everyone,

Hopefully everyone had a snow-filled, awesome Christmas! Where I live we were lacking a little in the snow department, which was too bad, but it was still a very nice day. Got to see lots of different family and it was just really laid back. What did you guys do?

In the spirit of the holiday season, I created a snowflake manicure. Hopefully you enjoy it!

I used:
Suzy Says Feng Shui by OPI (blue)
Alpine Snow by OPI
A random glitter by Sally Hansen

Hopefully everyone manages to have some time off school/work at one point during the holidays!
I don't imagine I'll post again before the new year... so Happy New Years everyone! Have a good one!

Up On the Housetop.. click click click

Hey guys!

Here's a nice Christmas manicure for you guys! I recreated Nailasaurus' holiday manicure on her blog. You can check out the manicure here! She is very talented.. I'm sure you'll find tons of manicure's that you'll just fall in love with.

What I used:
OPI Nail Polish in Alpine Snow (base colour and the eyes)
Essie Nail Polish in Mink Muffs and Mochacino (the two browns - the reindeer's body and antlers)
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Polish in Black Out (nose, lines, and eyes)
I don't remember the name of the red, but any red would work!
My lines started getting pretty wobbly because I was rushing to make it to school on time, but hopefully I did the manicure justice. CC welcome, of course!

I just did another nail look today, so hopefully I'll remember to post it ASAP.
Hope everyone has their Christmas shopping done and is ready for the holidays!

PS: If anyone has any snow they want to get rid of, can you send it my way? We seem to be lacking snow for the first time in years.. it's putting a damper on my holiday spirit! haha

Woo hoo! Thank-you guys! I just noticed that I've gotten up to 30 followers. That's just plain crazy. It sounds funny that I'm jumping up and down about 30 followers, but I feel like that's a pretty big accomplishment. When I first started my blog, I didn't think even two people would read my blog, let alone 30! I just wanted to thank each and every one of you. I appreciate you following me. It means so much!

I've been buried under books and papers, trying to get all my school assignments done, so I apologize for not posting more often. Hopefully  I'll be able to post a little more soon!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful week! Happy Hump Day! haha

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Manicure

Creative title, eh? This past weekend, the fourth movie of the hit saga came out! I'll admit, I'm a bit of Twilight nerd. I don't even want to say how many times I read the books when they first came out... A friend and myself even wanted to try to remake the first movie... *hides face in embarrassment* Don't believe me? Take a look for yourself...

Okay, okay.. now that we've all gotten a bit of chuckle... on to what we're actually hear for! Beauty talk! For the premiere of the movie I did a manicure inspired by the cover of Breaking Dawn. Painting chess pieces is a lot harder than you would expect!

What was used:
Alpine Snow by OPI
Black Out by Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear
Acrylic Paint from the dollar store for the white and red on the ring finger
Seche Vite Quick Dry Top Coat
I used an Essie base coat (I don't recall the actual name of it)

Did any of you ladies see Breaking Dawn? I thought it was pretty good. Although, I could understand why critics are giving it such a hard time! I think they may be thinking that it dragged a bit in parts... but as a reader of the books, I'm sort of glad that the audience got to enjoy Bella and Edward's honeymoon a bit more than anticipated.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
Have a great and healthy week!

Avatar

Hello everyone!

Welcome to my new followers. Thank-you so much for following me.. it truly means so much! I've been so busy with trying to catch up with school work from when I was sick. I feel so overwhelmed! I'm sorry I haven't been posting often. I know.. I know.. I say that every time I do post, but I mean it!

Hopefully everyone had a wonderful weekend. I know where I live, it was bright and sunny, and even warm! You'd almost think it was the spring, not the fall!

Here's a quick look I did on my brother.

I used my MUFE Flash Colour Palette, translucent powder to set the colour, and MAC's Fig. 1 eyeshadow gently dabbed on the nose and lips.

I hope you enjoy this look!

Have a fantastic week, full of smiles and laughing!

Halloween Splatter

Hello everyone,

It's been a very long time since I've posted! I'm very sorry. I've been sick in bed with pneumonia... but I'm finally almost back to myself! I had so many big plans for some Halloween looks, but I've just run out of time. Perhaps my looks might just be a little late! Who says Halloween can't be in November and December too?!

I managed to sit down and do my nails for the first time in weeks. I didn't have tons of time, so I decided to try something simple. I've seen many tutorials on splatter nails, and I've always loved how they looked. So this was the perfect opportunity to try it with some Halloween themed colours! Hope you enjoy this quick post!

I hope you are happy and healthy! Have a fantastic week... and of course.. a HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Om Nom Nom Nom Nom... COOKIES!

Hello everyone!

It was a beautiful Monday today.. lots of sun and the weather was warm for once! (It's been so cold lately that I've had to wear jeans - sometimes even sweaters!) I hope it was like that for everyone!

Today I'm going to show you some nail art that I did about a week ago. This isn't my original idea by any means.. I got the idea for this mani from CutePolish on YouTube (check out her video here). I just loved this. I couldn't stop staring at my hands. There's something about cookie monster that just makes me happy! Who was your favourite character from Sesame Street?

Okay.. enough rambling.. on to the manicure:

Have an awesome week guys! Thanks for following my work, it truly means so much to me!

Flying to Space

Several afternoon's ago I didn't have anything to do, so I decided to sit down and play with make-up. I didn't have anything in mind, so I searched google for some inspiration. I've seen some beautiful space inspired looks lately (Check out this amazing look here!) After remembering this, I decided to look up some pictures of space! Here is my lovely inspiration:

Originally, I was going for a cut crease.. but it didn't quite turn out. What can I say? I'm a blender! haha I wasn't quite thrilled with the result, but some of the members over on Make-up Geek seemed to enjoy it, so I thought I'd share it with my followers! Hope you guys enjoy it as well. Constructive criticism is always welcome! I will try to edit this post with the products I used etc.. when I get a chance!

Have an awesome Sunday everyone! For those of you going to school, try to enjoy your second week back!

Firstbase Base Coat by Essie
For Audrey by China Glaze (teal blue)
Snow White by Zoya (white)

Kiss Nail Art Paint in Black
Fast Drying Top Coat by Seche Vite

Tarte for True Blood Review

I'll admit, I'm a huge fan of the show True Blood. I own every season and watch the new episodes every week. There's something quite addicting about the story-line of the show. Could it be the bad boy, Eric? Maybe! When I found out that Tarte was coming out with a True Blood collection, I was thrilled. I knew right away that I would love to get the lip stain, and check out the palette! When I finally managed to make my way to the nearest Sephora, I was happy to see that everything I wanted was still in stock. Soon after getting home, I decided to swatch and take pictures of my goodies. This is my first ever true review, so feel free to recommend things that I should be changing etc.. Here we go...

Tarte for True Blood™ Limited-Edition Palette
Price: $52.00 CDN

This amazing palette comes with 17 full sized shadows, one gel eyeliner, sample size of mascara and primer. Not even including the eyeliner, mascara or primer; you are only paying $3.00 per shadow! That's craziness!

Look at all these lovely shadows.. so awesome!

The palette fully opened. The mirror is rather large! I believe that this palette would be great for travel... it has everything you need!

Swatch time! Some of the lighter colours I couldn't seem to get accurate swatches of (such as the light, fairy and dawn) but overall, these swatches are accurate as I could possibly get.

Swatch of the eyeliner

Final Review:
The shadows are bright, and smooth. I applied my eye-shadow around 9:30AM, and it still looked fresh when I was finishing up dinner. The eyeliner was smooth in consistency, and very opaque. I personally had a difficult time using it, but I've never really have used gel liner much, so it could just be due to this. The mascara was nice, I didn't experience any clumps or "spider lashes", but I didn't find it anymore special than any other mascara I've tried. I have yet to try the primer.

Would I buy this again? Yes!

If you are interested in the palette, you can buy it here: http://sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P290213&shouldPaginate=true&categoryId=5648

Next in the line up..

Tarte for True Blood™ Limited-Edition LipSurgence™ Natural Lip Tint
Price: $24.00 CDN

Here's a comparison of the lip tint to my skin, just to give you a bit of a better idea of the actual colour of it. It's more colour accurate than the picture above!

Before: My bare lips

After: With True Blood Lip Tint
(This is very colour accurate.. I love this tint!)

Final Review:
I really enjoy this lip tint! It's the first lip tint I've ever tried from Tarte, and it's made me fall in love. It stayed on for hours.. even through eating and drinking water. It applied much brighter than originally expected, but I love the colour! It's the perfect red. I would assume it would look different on all skin tones, and depending on how coloured your lips are to begin with. The tint applied very smoothly on my lips. The crayon-like style of packaging made it very easy to apply, and you didn't have to worry about messing up. It has a very light mint scent and flavor, which I personally don't mind, but some people may not like it!

Would I buy this again? Most definitely!

If you are interested in this lip tint, you can buy it here: http://sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P290212&categoryId=RPYMAL&shouldPaginate=true

I hope this review was helpful to some! I hope everyone's having a great week!
(Sorry about the alignment of some of the above text.. blogger hates me tonight! haha)

Slash of Zebra

Hello my lovely followers! Nothing too exciting today. I've been doing my make-up often, I just never remember to take pictures. So, for today.. here is a manicure that I did a couple weeks ago. Minus the couple smudges, I really like it. I think it would be fun to do with any colour, especially pink or purple! Hope you enjoy this quick post! Have an awesome week!

Used:
For Audrey by China Glaze
Sally Hansesn Insta-Dri Nail Colour in Whirlwind White
Kiss Nail Art Paint (the black and silver - can't remember the colour names)

Neutral with Pink Nouveau!

Another look that I've done in the last week. Nothing too fancy, but I thought I should share! I was trying out some more new goodies.. just playing around. Pink Nouveau is one of the brightest blue-pink lipsticks ever! It's so dramatic. I'm not sure if I'm comfortable enough to wear it out yet, but it sure is fun to play with! Hope you enjoy this look. CC is always welcome!

Jealousy Wakes

I missed the Bloggers Obsession Collection from MAC when it first came out, but lucky for me.. MAC released the products again! When I received the email I automatically went over to the MAC website and bought the eye-shadow, Jealousy Wakes. I received it in the mail just a couple days ago, and I decided to try it as soon as possible. This is the resulting look that I came up with! The pictures aren't great (for some reason I'm having difficulties taking good shots of my eye up close?), but I hope they do the look justice! CC is always welcome on the look! Hope you enjoy. Thanks for taking the time to pop by my blog :)

I'm Still Alive!

Hi everyone!

I'm completely amazed by how many followers I have! Thank-you to each and every one of you! I'm sorry I've been sort of M.I.A. but, I assure you I will have things to share soon. I've just been so busy I haven't really had the time to do any sort of fun make-up, let alone take pictures and upload them to a computer! Haha! Now that things are starting to slow down a bit in my life, I'm hoping I can focus on getting some looks done.

Thank-you again for sticking by me, even though I've been the worst blogger ever!

Looks will be coming soon I hope! :)

Sugar High

Lately I've been craving lots of sweets! I'm not sure why, but I don't mind. When I saw that the YouTube guru JulieG posted a tutorial on how to do cupcake nails, I knew it was perfect for me to try! So, here you have it.. my attempt at cupcake nails! Sorry about the small picture, if you click on it, it will get bigger! Let me know what you think! If you'd like to know any products, feel free to ask!

It's almost the weekend, and for all of those Canadian's out there.. it's a long weekend! Have a wonderful Canada Day! Drive safe!

Sunset Challenge

Hello lovely ladies,
It's been a long time, I'm very sorry! But I'm here to show you my look that I did for the challenge on Makeup Geek. The challenge is to do a look inspired by a picture of a sunset! I'm not completely thrilled with it, but I hope you enjoy! Constructive criticism is always more than welcome! If you'd like to know any products, feel free to ask.

Now that it's the summer I'm hoping to do more looks. Especially with lots of colour!

I hope everyone is having a fantabulous weekend!

This look I have to show you was done a couple days ago but I just haven't had the time to post. Hopefully you enjoy looking at it! I hope to start doing more looks and posting them more often.. wish me luck!

Collection and Organization

Hi everyone,

It's finally Thursday! Where I live, we've had some beautiful weather these last couple days! It just makes me so smiley and happy! Odd enough, I haven't done my make-up lately.. so I'm here to post my collection and how I organize my make-up! Hopefully this might help a couple people! If you have any questions at all, just let me know!

My Make-up Desk
Jar from Michaels filled with floral beads. Used to hold my make-up brushes
Make-up Mirror (Got it as a xmas gift, I'm sure you can get it at any local Wal-mart)
Pencil holder from Homesense. Used to hold all my eye-liners.

Plastic Organizer from Wal-mart

A zebra desk organizer. I bought this from homesense.
It holds mostly palettes, but also make-up remover, Fix+ and Urban Decay eye-liner sharpener.

All my face products. Foundation, concealer, blush, bronzer etc.

Lip products, theatrical false lashes, fake blood, and spirit gum

Eye products.. which include.. single or duo eyeshadows, primers, mascara, liquid and gel liners, paintpots, tweezers and an eyelash curler.

Here is a more close-up view of the shadows.

Close-up view of mascara, liners etc..

Finally, this is my bottom drawer. I keep several different palettes in here, including my MAC palettes, Urban Decay Ammo palette and some cheaper drugstore palettes. I also have sponges, and pigments from the Tartan Tale collection.

Now, I realize this may not be the best organization for everyone. But simply separating my products into different areas makes me breathe easy. Although I would like to figure out how to organize both my lip and face products a little better.

My best tips for organization would be to go to your local Wal-Mart, Home Depot etc.. and look at what they have for organization systems. You could even look at the kitchen and desk organization, where you would be able to find pencil holders, envelope holders (which you could use to hold your palettes), and even drawer organizers. I hope this is helpful to some, or even just interesting!

Have a great Friday, and a wonderful weekend!

Haul & Swatches!

I just came back from a lovely day out with my mom. I got to stop in Sephora and take a look around. There have been so many things I've wanted, and I finally caved today!

I bought an Urban Decay lip liner in Naked, MUFE eyeshadows in #99 (it's a bright red) and #159 (bright blue), Benefit bronzing powder in Hoola, Nars highlighting blush powder in Albatross and finally.. I redeemed my 500 point perk, which got me a spiffy palette from Too Faced!

This is my first attempt at doing a haul post or swatches, so let me know how it is! Here are some pictures of all the goodies... (if you click on the pictures, they get larger so you can see everything better :) )

                                                               The haul..

MUFE #159

MUFE #99

MUFE Swatches (No primer - taken w/flash)

Hoola by Benefit

Hoola Swatch (taken with flash)

Urban Decay Naked Lip-liner Swatch

The 500 Point Perk

Swatches of Too Faced Palette (I'm sorry, you can't see the lighter colours that well..)

I haven't had time to try any looks with any of these products, but from what I can see so far.. they're going to be well worth the money! Everything is very pigmented and smooth. Hopefully it stays that way once it gets on my eyes (or lips)!

I hope this is helpful to some! I'm hoping to blog about my collection and storage for make-up, and give ideas on how to organize make-up. Possibly within the next couple days?!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful start to their week!
